Hendren Design Associates,
(HDA), was founded in 1986 by Gary W. Hendren, AIA, who is
the founding principal and the lead designer. The firm was
established and focused on projects with private developers
of residential and commercial buildings until the recession
of 1992. At this time, the office was placed in hiatus. Mr.
Hendren became the lead architectural designer and Associate
Vice President of CID Associates. In eight years, the firm
grew from 30 to 105 people and 2 million to 10 million in
revenue and joined Edwards and Kelcey, a large engineering
conglomerate where as an Associate Vice President, he was the
lead architect for the New England region. In 2002, he
elected to formally re-open Hendren Design Associates.
Today,
Hendren Design Associates
is an architectural and development consulting firm working
in their traditional fields of residential and commercial
buildings with an emphasis on planning, land use analysis,
building design and project management. HDA identifies
potential development properties, performs feasibility
analysis with regards to zoning, market and constructability,
prepares a prospectus and establishes joint venture
development teams. HDA will then provide architectural
design, engineering coordination, project management and
construction phase services. The design team is fully
integrated into the development and building process. Each
decision is considered from all aspects bringing reality into
design and design into reality. We believe this wholistic
approach leads to better building, more successful projects
and an improved relationship between all participants in the
development process.
